We Focus on Candid Moments (But Can Still Deliver Beautiful Couple’s Shots)
As documentary wedding photographers, our approach to the couple’s shoot has evolved into something more intentional — yet still grounded in the same principles we bring to the rest of your day: quiet observation, honesty, and emotional presence.
We still believe that the most meaningful images are the ones that feel unposed and unforced — the moments where you're truly yourselves. But over time, we’ve found that with a little bit of prep beforehand, we’re able to make space on the day for those moments to unfold even more naturally.
Creating space for real connection
In the lead-up to your wedding, we’ll share a few gentle pointers — things to think about that can help you feel more settled when it’s just the two of you and our cameras. This isn’t about practice or performance. It’s about building comfort. So that when the moment comes, you’re not wondering what to do with your hands — you’re simply present with each other.
On the day, the shoot itself is quiet and intuitive. Together, we’ll choose a spot where you’d like to pause — and once you’re in place, we step back. You might hear us gently shape things: “Just take a moment there,” or “Even slower.” But for the most part, we’re watching for the in-between frames — the way you glance at each other, the laugh you didn’t plan, the stillness that speaks louder than a pose ever could.
Slow, subtle, and completely yours
We’ll never ask you to perform romance. Instead, we make room for whatever your version of connection looks like — whether that’s soft and still, playful and warm, or quietly affectionate. Some couples hold hands and walk slowly. Others pause, lean in close, or share a quiet laugh. What matters is that it feels honest.
These portraits are often some of the only moments you’ll have alone on the day, and we treat them as such — not as a photoshoot, but as a chance to pause, breathe, and be with each other amid the celebration. That’s when the most powerful images happen.
What about more traditional portraits?
If you’re hoping for a few classic, frame-worthy portraits as well — absolutely. We can create those too. Our style doesn’t rule them out; it just means we approach them with the same thoughtfulness. We’ll guide you in a way that feels comfortable, create something polished and elegant, and then let you get back to the party.
So if you’re a little camera shy, or you’re just not sure what to expect — don’t worry. You don’t need to prepare anything at all. This time is about you, together, just as you are. We’ll take care of the rest.
Your wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our goal is to document it in a way that feels deeply personal and beautifully true — and the couple’s shoot is no exception.
