LAURA & JONNY
Before weddings, Laura first picked up an old film camera. Working with film shaped a sensitivity to light, texture and restraint that still runs through our work today.
Jonny comes from a technical background, with a natural attention to rhythm, movement and detail. His focus is on how sound and motion sit together, and how a frame — or the space between frames — can hold meaning when it isn’t overworked.
Together, our work sits somewhere between the old and the new. We’re influenced by fine-art composition and natural light, but grounded in a documentary approach — letting things happen as they are, without interruption. Every photograph and every frame is chosen with intention, not just to look beautiful, but to feel honest.
We live in a small village in Yorkshire, surrounded by open countryside. That sense of space and stillness inevitably finds its way into our work. When we’re not photographing or filming weddings, we’re usually outside, or at home with our daughter, enjoying a slower pace of life.
Being invited into such meaningful moments is something we never take lightly. Creating images and films that hold memory — the kind you return to years from now — is at the heart of what we do.
