There’s something undeniably magical about autumn weddings, and October brings a certain charm that’s hard to rival. Crisp air, golden leaves, and a soft, diffused light create the perfect setting for a love story to unfold. When we were invited to document Tanya and Simon’s wedding at Old Palace Chester, we knew it would be an unforgettable day.
REVIEW
Personalised Excellence
Laura & Jonny were absolutely amazing we can completely recommend them. They made us feel at ease and relaxed throughout the day, both were very friendly. The natural photos they took are beautiful, they did a brilliant job of immersing themselves within the wedding to capture the day as it naturally unfolded, especially capturing those moments of magic. They were extremely kind and professional which made getting the formal shots we wanted a breeze! We’re so glad you were our photographer & videographer on our big day, we would recommend you to anyone!
Old Palace Chester has an air of timeless elegance.
Situated on the banks of the River Dee, this stunning venue combines historic beauty with modern luxury. Its sweeping views and intricate detailing offered the perfect backdrop for Tanya and Simon’s celebration.
Our day began in the Morning Room, where Tanya was surrounded by her closest friends and family. The room was filled with laughter and a touch of nervous excitement. Then it was on to the Palace Suite with its truly stunning architecture. Tanya’s bridal gown, with its elegant silhouette, perfectly reflected her timeless style.
Meanwhile, Simon and his groomsmen prepared in The Den. The camaraderie was in full swing as they adjusted bow ties and shared stories from their years of friendship. Simon’s classic tuxedo and infectious joy set the tone for the day—refined, yet deeply personal.
The ceremony took place in the River Room, where natural light streamed through the windows, casting a glow on the couple as they exchanged vows. Documenting these moments was a true honour: the fleeting glances and joyful tears, these are the moments we live to capture—real, unscripted, and brimming with emotion.
Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a cocktail at the Peploe Lounge & Bar. As documentary photographers and videographers, we cherish opportunities like this to capture candid moments: the unguarded laughter and heartfelt embraces. It’s these interactions that make a wedding day so uniquely special.
For the reception, the Ballroom was transformed, with cascading floral arrangements by the wonderful Coverstory Wedding Events. Speeches brought both laughter and a few misty eyes, while the first dance and excellent song choices from Wedding Sounds set up a dancefloor atmosphere that made everyone want to get involved. Their day was a celebration of love, family, and connection, and it was a privilege to preserve these memories for them.
The staff at the venue were exceptional, ensuring every detail ran seamlessly, and Lauren, the master of ceremonies was particularly wonderful, adding to the day’s polished feel.
Tanya and Simon’s wedding at Old Palace Chester was a perfect reflection of their story: elegant yet heartfelt.
